Seal oil naturally contains EPA, DHA, and DPA, a rare omega-3 found in much higher concentrations in marine mammals than in fish. DPA enhances the body’s use of EPA and DHA and supports cardiovascular and immune health.
Fish oil typically contains little to no DPA.
DPA (docosapentaenoic acid) is sometimes called the “missing omega-3.” It:
- boosts the conversion of EPA → DHA
- increases total omega-3 uptake into cells
- enhances anti-inflammatory pathways
- improves omega-3 bioavailability overall
Seal oil is one of the richest natural sources of DPA.
The sublingual area is highly permeable to certain lipophilic molecules. Sublingual absorption can:
- avoid chemical breakdown in the stomach
- increase absorption speed
- improve bioavailability
- ease consumption for people with digestive sensitivities or pill fatigue
